Westfield Culver City Incident This Past Weekend

On January 7th at approximately 5:30 pm, Culver City PD Officers received reports of a man with a gun in the area of Westfield Mall.

Officers quickly responded to the mall and checked the parking lots, parking structures and all stores within the mall. No evidence of shots fired were located, nor was there any credible information regarding a man with a gun.

At the same time, officers began receiving calls of large group of teens fighting in the parking lot of the mall. The officers responded quickly, addressed the situation with mall security personnel and dispersed the unruly teens from the mall property.

Culver City PD is working closely with Westfield Culver City Management to explore additional security measures. We have also been deploying additional officers in and around the mall during the last several weeks and will continue to do so.
