RE-IMAGINE FOX HILLS REPORT We hope you will take time to review and comment on the Urban Land Use report which contains analysis and suggestions for the commercial area in Fox Hills.  In the Fall, 2019 city staff is planning to request of the City Council that a consultant be identified to prepare a master plan for the area.         Why is it important to have community input?  Simply put, changes made will affect ALL of us in Fox Hills (residents and businesses alike).
When reviewing you will see that the report is in sections to include:

  • Mission of the Urban Land Use Institute
  • Summary of Report/Key questions addressed, page 4
  • Major Conclusions- page 5 ( note terms ENHANCED STATUS QUO and GUIDED EVOLUTION)
  • Background of Culver City and Fox Hills- page 7
  • Recent Plans- page 9
  • Recommendations start on Page 12 for areas of mobility, parking, Bristol Parkway and branding and identity.
  • Possible Scenarios start on Page 16:  3 scenarios for the Fox Hills Plaza and 1 scenario for the office space on Hannum and Bristol

Things to consider:
What do you think of the scenarios?
How should Culver City address pressures from wealthy corporations wanting to be in Fox Hills?

You will see a COMMENTS section to input your feedback!

NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME STATS FOR FOX HILLS:

When reading the stats, remember that most crimes are committed in the commercial areas, eg: Shoplifting at Westfield.  According to CCPD: “Normally in the summer months, we tend to have more activities at/or around the mall.  Thus, the vehicle burgs and theft numbers are a lot higher than normal.  In July, we had an increase in vehicle burglary on Canterbury Dr, mainly in the parking structures.  We arrested three subjects who were all linked to the burglaries.  SET team was also notified to focus their efforts in the area.  We haven’t seen any vehicle burglaries reported on Canterbury since 07/25/19.”   Please remember to lock your car and do not leave items visible that are tempting to thieves.

FIESTA LA BALLONA @ Veteran’s Park on August 23-25, 2019 !!  The most popular Culver City party to include entertainment, food trucks, carnival rides and much more.   Visit www.FiestaLaBallona.org for details and schedules.  Always so much fun.

OPEN MIKE NIGHT AT ANTIOCH UNIVERSITY:  Do you or your neighbors have talents to share with the community?  Our “local” university at Corporate Pointe is the place to do so on August 27th.  Come and present or listen! Link

THANK YOU! On behalf of our board, many thanks to all that participated in our first Pot Luck Party in the Park on August 3rd. It was great fun and a chance to mingle with neighbors and people of our Culver City community!!!   The yoga and chair massages only added to the event in such a unique way!!!
