Culver City Council informed the Fox Hills Neighborhood Association this morning that the National Guard will be deployed to protect the Westfield Mall – Culver City today at around 1 p.m. This will be their only presence in Culver City.

The request has been made by the Culver City Police Department because there have been numerous credible threats to attack the mall over the past several days on social media and in real life. The mall is the largest regional shopping center in our area and is a significant target for theft. 

The County is in control of their deployment and they will asses tomorrow whether the National Guard stays on after today or tomorrow or moves on to another location.
