UPDATE FOR THOSE PLANNING TO SPEAK AT THE SEPT 9 2024 CITY COUNCIL MEETING: Please sign up to speak regarding the issues described in this posting under C-9 INSTEAD OF UNDER “PUBLIC STATEMENT NOT ON THE AGENDA”
CITY COUNCIL MEETING, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2024:
PLEASE SPEAK OUT AND SUPPORT FOX HILLS AT THIS MEETING AND/OR EMAIL CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS!!!
• Please speak out for the reversal of City Council’s decision that developers only need 2 community meetings (regarding new development proposals), back to THREE meetings, which up until now, was the norm.
NOTE: At the August 26, 2024 City Council meeting, the city planners placed in the General Plan to only have 1 meeting for the community to attend. City Council’s “compromise” for 2 meetings reflected a lack of advocacy for their Fox Hills constituents. They are our ELECTED officials and the City Planners are NOT.
• Please speak out for City Council to increase the distance to 2000 feet for developers to notify those that live/work near proposed developments. It is now a mere 500 feet from any proposed development.
• Please speak out to push for an amendment to DECREASE THE DENSITY DESIGNATION on the south side of Slauson from 100 units/acre. With this 100 unit/acre designation, predictably, Fox Hills is attracting developers, with four development proposals thus far totaling 2057 units. We are the DENSEST RESIDENTIAL AREA in Culver City with 2800 units. We are the most DIVERSE ethnically, income wise and age wise. It is a BLATANT INEQUITY to allow Fox Hills to have most of the 3341 units that Culver City must have by 2029. The city would still be in compliance with the state if the density in Fox Hills was decreased as they have surplus locations planned in their inventory.
