TIMING IS EVERYTHING AND THERE IS NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT!!!

I know many of you are concerned about the high density mixed use proposals submitted by 3 developers thus far to build on the south side of Slauson, where there are presently office complexes. To date, these 3 proposals total 1709 units with a high likelihood of more to come.   If you are concerned, you need to let your views known, as the GENERAL PLAN UPDATE AND ZONING CODE UPDATE are being presented to the Planning Commission and the City Council in February, 2024.

TIMELINE:

THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE GENERAL PLAN WILL BE READY END OF MARCH 2024

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT GENERAL PLAN TO THE STATE IS DUE OCTOBER 15, 2024

*** SUGGESTED KEY POINTS TO INCLUDE:

  • To lower the density designation.  Presently it is 100 units/acre and ideally should be 50 units/acre,
  • Stress we are the highest density area in Culver City and this high density designation of 100 units/acre is in the densest part of Fox Hills
  • Place high density on the NORTH SIDE OF SLAUSON, where there is no housing, minimal traffic and plenty of land.
  • The 3341 units required by the state for Culver City should be equitably distributed avoiding overburdening Fox Hills.

THANK YOU. IF THE DENSITY DESIGNATION OF 100 UNITS/ACRE IS KEPT AS PART OF THE CITY’S GENERAL PLAN, IT WILL BE TOO LATE TO CHANGE IT ONCE DEVELOPMENT STARTS!!! SO….NOW IS THE TIME TO VOICE YOUR CONCERNS!!!
